Arts Theater Concert Hall Field Trip
MYP Students Experience the Enchanting World of the Pipe Organ
On November 13, 2024, our Middle Years Programme (MYP) students had the unique opportunity to attend a captivating performance at the Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater’s Concert Hall. The event, titled “絵本×朗読×パイプオルガン『終わらない夜』” (Picture Book × Reading × Pipe Organ ‘The Endless Night’), seamlessly blended the art of storytelling with the majestic sounds of the pipe organ, offering an immersive cultural experience.
Upon arrival at the venue, students were guided to their designated seats by accompanying teachers, ensuring a smooth and organized entry. The performance commenced promptly at 13:30, with the hall’s ambiance setting the stage for the enchanting narrative that unfolded.
The program featured a harmonious collaboration between composer Hina Sakamoto, organist Masayo Kachiyama, and narrator Sayuri Fujii. Their combined talents brought to life a fantastical world, captivating the audience and providing a profound appreciation for the pipe organ’s versatility and expressive power.
This field trip not only enriched our students’ understanding of musical arts but also underscored the importance of cultural engagement in their educational journey. We extend our gratitude to the Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater for hosting this remarkable event and look forward to future opportunities that inspire and educate our students.
