Chess Tournament
Chess Tournament Kicks Off at Our School
This week, our school hosted a thrilling chess tournament that brought together 19 talented students from both PYP and MYP. These young chess enthusiasts demonstrated their strategic thinking and competitive spirit in what turned out to be an exciting and well-fought event.
The tournament, which took place in the school library, followed the internationally recognized Swiss system for fair pairings. Students of all ages and skill levels competed in a single category, making the matches both diverse and dynamic.
The competition began on Monday, October 21st, at 3:30 PM, with three intense rounds taking place that day. The students continued their chess battles into Tuesday, wrapping up the final two rounds before the much-anticipated award ceremony. Parents were warmly invited to witness the matches and cheer on their children as they showcased their chess skills.
Medals were awarded to the top three players in recognition of their outstanding performances. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and we congratulate all participants for their hard work and dedication.
A special thank you to the parents for their support and for encouraging their children to participate in this intellectually stimulating event. We look forward to hosting more exciting tournaments in the future!
